Orchard Toys have some of the best kids games for learning, but they are also a lot of fun! My kids absolutely loved playing the Orchard Toys games when they were little. You can start out with the younger games such as Follow That Car or one of the many games where you match the pieces or practice colours. Lekkid Imaginary Fauna
Lekkid are a Spanish based company with fantastic open ended toys. With Imaginary Fauna children can create a huge number of different imaginary animals. Each piece of the Lekkid toy is magnetic, so children can stick the parts together in a variety of ways. It’s perfect for encouraging imagination and problem solving.
This was loved by my kids and their friends from 2 all the way up to 8 year olds!
Sing My Name Bunny
My youngest has always loved anything with music and the Sing My Name bunny is perfect for this! When you buy the bunny you enter your child’s name and they arrive with personalised songs. From ‘Wake Me Up’ to ‘Happy birthday’, your child will be delighted that their bunny has song’s just for them! The kids also love that they can record themselves on the bunny too.
Little Tykes Anchors Away Water Table
The Little Tykes Anchors Away water table is excellent for young kids. It comes with lots of little figures and a shark. Plus they can quiet water using the cannon, pour water down the different cogs and lots more. Fantastic for an outdoor kids toy.
WOW Toys
WOW Toys have a huge selection of chunky vehicles and people for children aged from 10+ months. My kids loved playing with them right up until 6-7 years old! The toys are battery free, they are very robust and can cope with heavy handed kids. They will last for years and easily able to be passed down to younger kids.

Jaques of London
Jaques of London is one of the world’s oldest toy manufacturers. They make wooden toys, including some fantastic wooden board games. We particularly love the wooden Chess set and Shut The Box game. But there are loads of options for all ages, from imaginary play items to snakes and ladders or Mancala.
Lottie Dolls
Kids will love these realistic looking child-like dolls compared to those that normally look like teenagers! Lottie Dolls have the body proportions of a 9 year old and are often inspired by real children, such as kid activists or those with cochlear implants.
They also have various dolls houses or stables available to go with the dolls. A fab idea for doll loving children.
Code and Go Robot Mouse – Best Toy And Game Reviews
This STEM robot mouse introduces coding from early years onwards. Suitable from 4+ to around 8 years old. Colby the robot mouse well help children learn to code through a huge variety of mazes and tunnels.
The mouse can also be coded to make extra noises and always squeaks when it reaches the cheese in the maze!
Totem Infernal Power
Totem Infernal Power is aimed at 7+ years, mostly as it is a bit of a challenge. Which is definitely the point! Using the starter piece you spin the largest spinner, then you need to spin and stack the other spinners on top. It’s fairly easy to get 3 stacked, but 4 is very hard and 5 has so far been impossible!
It’s a great toy to keep kids busy and they will certainly be pleased when they manage to stack them!

There are plenty of Orchard Toys games suitable for primary aged kids too. With Counting Mountain and Magic Spelling being good for younger kids and games such as Times Table Heroes and Mammoth Maths being perfect for older primary aged kids. Although wooden railways are often bought for preschool children, it’s not until kids are into primary school that they really play well with them. Setting up and creating complex railways are definitely something that is suited to primary aged kids.

Unikitty Lego
For those children who love watching Unikitty and are big fans of the Lego movies, will love these Unikitty Lego sets. There are newer ones that have been released, but the older versions are definitely the best!
Being Lego they can obviously be added to any current Lego sets you own. Creating some awesome fun with imaginary play and engineering skills.
My Adventure Kit
My Adventure Kit have an awesome selection of den kits for kids. This is perfect for kids who love being outdoors and want to build their own dens. Also great if you like to do 1000 hours outside challenge as you can use this as a bit of shelter whilst outside!

Science Kits
There are so many science kits out there! If you are looking for a subscription then I’d definitely recommend Kiwi Crate. They have great science kits for kids, delivered monthly. However, for a one-off gift these John Adams science kits are excellent value. The kids love all the activities in them!
Craft Kits
For rainy days craft kits are a definite hit. So they are perfect as gifts, especially for the holiday season. The petal jewellery kit has lasted ages, there are so many beads included! Then the ASMR kinetic sand from So Sand and Blo Pens are great for creating with.
Anki Cozmo Robot
Cozmo the robot is a well loved coding robot in our house. It’s brilliant for younger kids to play with and learn the basics of coding, but you can also open out more complex doing too. It works via an app on the phone and is considered sort of like a pet robot in our house. The kids ‘feed’ it, play with it and help tune it up too.
Beaker Creatures
Learning Resources Beaker Creatures are a great science gift for younger primary aged kids. There are lots of fun features, including a little monster to identify in each ‘egg’. There are also lots of other new additions to these sets too – look out for the golden monster!

Board Games
Board games are always a hit here with our tweens. There are a lot to choose from, traditional roll the dice and follow the path games, to challenging questions, money management and strategies. You can check out board games for 8+ here or fun, but educational games in this link.
Stunt Scooters
The stunt scooters from skates.co.uk are perfect for kids wanting to try out some cool moves. Slightly easier than skateboarding, but still a challenge to learn new tricks. The kids have enjoyed these scooters for years, only needing to change the wheels after 2 years of constant use! Fortunately you can buy the wheels from Skates too, so it’s easy to get new ones when you wear the others out!
Mechanical Coding Kit
This mechanical coding robot was given to my eldest when he was 10, however it was a bit difficult then. It’s definitely suited to older children who are used to following instructions and placing together fiddly bits. Then you can code your robot!
MEL Science Subscription
For older children who have grown out of Kiwi crates, MEL science is perfect. It has lots of real science that includes electricity and fire. Everything comes with the kits and they are a lot of fun for tweens!
Ukele
Although pictured with my youngest, the ukele is much better for older children. It’s not the most straightforward instrument to learn, but there are plenty of tutorials online! It also comes with a display stand too.
