Sometimes it’s fun to plan certain crafts and kids activities. But to plan these we like some ideas such as different themes, space and Ancient China have been past topics. Or in this case around different national days in the UK and international days. I’m hoping this might give the kids some inspiration for exciting activities together and also that perhaps they will learn something new along the way.
I have only chosen days that are relevant or would be of interest to us, there are way to many too include everything! There are plenty of other important days, particularly those with a charity focus that might be useful for older children to get involved in too.
Table of Contents
International and National Days UK For Kids Activities
The days include;
World Wetlands Day
On 2nd February, where we might visit a local wetland site and identify some of the birds we can see, or set up a small pond in the garden or even make some goose biscuits!
British Pie Week – National Days UK
In March, where we could make our own selection of sweet or savoury ‘artisan’ pies. The kids do love to cook different dishes!
International Astronomy Day
On 14th May, when we could borrow a telescope to study the moon up close. Perhaps we could go out when it’s dark to find constellations. Or we might make our own constellations paintings or models of planets. We have already covered a space theme day, so this could be more in depth.
World Music Day
The 21st June is world music day. When we could visit a local museum that has old musical instruments or make our own instruments.
International and National Days For Kids UK
Have a look at the list, google the days for events happening near you and check Pinterest for kids activities ideas, or just make up your own relevant activities.
In the graphic below I have listed the national UK days and international days for kids activities in chronological order. Please remember that these are just the days that I thought would suit my family, there are lots of other dates from around the world that you could also include. Please remember that some of the days will change each year, so please check the date before you plan!
