I have listed some exciting events coming up in the next month all around Scotland.  Let me know if there are any other events you would like added to the list and I’ll do my best to add them.

Saturday 3rd September

Loch Lomond Food and Drinks Festival.  Free to enter and lots of different activities from 10am – 4pm each day, find out more here.

Braemar Highland Gathering, with all the traditional highland game events (9.30am – 5pm).

Siege on the Forth at Blackness Castle, a Historic Scotland event.  12-4pm each day, event included in admission price.

Woodland Wonders at Stanley Mills 12 – 4pm, a Historic Scotland event and included in the admission price.  The event includes music, trapeze artists and storytelling, as well as ranger led walks, craft activities and a seasonal tea party.

Sunday 4th September

Country Fair at the National Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbride, 10am – 5pm.

Blairgowrie & Rattray Highland games, Blairgowrie at 10am.

Open air showing of Jurassic Park (PG) at the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens, 6.45pm. For tickets pop over here.

Friday 9th September

The Shindig, Stirling’s Fringe Event.  Lots of different events from comedies, to ceilidh’s to storytelling.  Find out more about the events here.

Pitlochry Highland Games at Ferry Road, Pitlochry, commencing at 10 am.

The Engine Shed Open Day, learn about the techniques used to protect Scotland’s historical building and try your hand at different crafts from stone masonry to stain glass working and lots more.  Open from 10am – 11am each day.  Find out more here.

Farm Fest 2016 at Gorgie City Farm, Edinburgh.  Open from 11am – 4pm, activities include face painting, crafts, fire engine visit and animal handling.

Sunday 11th September

Duck Race at Water of Leith visitor centre, funday starts at 2pm and the duck race starts at 3pm.

Family Fun Day at Howden Park, Livingston to raise funds for local children in poverty.  Open 11am – 3pm with tombolas, inflatables, kids activities and more.

Harvest Festival at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens, 1 – 4pm.  Join in with the gardening activities, advice and information about harvesting and storing crops.

Invercharron Highland Games, Invercharron, opening at 10am until 5pm.

Sunday 18th September

Archaeology Day at Holyrood Park with Historic Scotland and Historic Environment Scotland.  11am – 3pm, no booking required, free event.

Harvest Festival at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens, 1 – 4pm.  Join in with the gardening activities, advice and information about harvesting and storing crops.

Saturday 24th September

Trinity House Family Weekend with a lot of activities including object handling, quizzes and stained glass activity.  It’s open 10am – 4pm with free entry.

Sunday 25th September

The Wheels and Wings Show, National Museum of Flight. 10am – 5pm, there will be a whole range of activities and shows to amaze.
