How To Help a Hedgehog and Protect a Polar Bear Children’s Book
The artwork in this book just sells it to me. Beautiful illustrations by Angela Keoghan really make you want to help every animal in this book and try out the suggestions written by Dr Jess French. Dr French has so many fantastic ideas of how to help the planet, hence the second part of the title: 70 Everyday Ways to Save Our Planet.
70 Everyday Ways To Help Our Planet
Dr French has split the book into 13 different habitats, from hedgerows to jungles and wetlands to coastlines. In each habitat there is an illustrated double-page spread giving an overview of the habitat and the wildlife that live there.
On the next page is the species fact file for the animals shown on the double-page spread. There is a detailed description of each animal, their size and weight. The following page tells you how you can help the environment for that specific habitat.
I love all the ideas of how kids can make small everyday changes to help the planet. From not using the car for short journeys, supporting organisations involved in wildlife conservation and making eco-friendly party decorations. There are plenty of fantastic ideas that kids will want to implement in their homes.
The only thing I think is missing is a list of conservation organisations that kids might like to join, supporting habitats and animals in the UK and abroad.
