First, decorations! Aim for a boho hippy festival look with bunting, blankets and comfy seating. Bright and vibrant colours work well for that festival feel.

You can even create DIY festival campsite decorations. Cut out triangles of coloured card and tape to a bamboo pole. Or sew some fabric bunting out of kids old clothing, cover some cushions with bright fabrics and wrap colourful wool around sticks and dangle from a tree.

Get the kids to help with some crafting. Craft workshops are always a fun part of family festivals.

Food and Drink

You can’t have a festival without some good food and drinks. Obviously with children involved it has to be non-alcoholic. Family festivals normally have lots of entertainment for the entire family. So get started with some good tunes on a portable speaker. Creating Memories

The main idea of a mini kids festival in the garden is to create memories. So capture those happy memories with a good camera. So instead enjoy a fun festival atmosphere at home, using items you already have, creating some items out of things around the house or buying a couple of things to make it special. Have a fantastic party atmosphere at home with your family.

You can even invite your friends and other family members to come and join in too. Just make sure you ask them to bring along some food and drink to help keep costs down!
