The Reason We Can’t Have Nice Things…

Did your parents ever use that phrase?  ‘This is the reason we can’t have nice things!’  I think it’s was probably something a lots of people remember saying at one point or another.  I certainly think it quite often with my two rampaging boys!

I have attempted redecorating some of our rooms, but have given up as the kids have a tendency to destroy nice things.  My nicely decorated walls have little chips out of them or are splattered in unidentifiable materials in the kitchen.  I have no idea how those people on Instagram have such gorgeously immaculate houses with kids.  Is it a mirage?

So I have been putting off decorating other rooms in the house for quite a while as it’s quite annoying when my hard work is ruined.  However, it might not be so bad if it was someone else’s hard work?  It would save me the effort of decorating and would not be quite so soul destroying if there were marks.  Plus the bare walls would look so much nicer, at least for a short while!

Where To Find A Decorator

So, where do I find a decorator these days?  You can always ask a friend, but not that many people I know have had a decorator.  Or you can look up decorators in your phone book, but all you can go on is how they sound on the phone and how much they will charge.

This is where Bidvine comes into play.  Bidvine is a service that allows you to advertise your job to local tradespersons.  They can then bid on the job and you choose your prefered tradesperson.

Why Bidvine?

The service is so easy to use, you simply choose which category you need, for example I chose interior decorator.  Then you answer the multiple choice questions, which give the tradesperson a better idea of what your job involves and so a better idea of what the price will be.  Click to send to local interior decorators and wait for replies.   You should get some replies within hours and the advert will be closed after 4 days.

You can check other people’s reviews of the tradesperson before you contact them and decide if they would be right for you.  The tradesperson bidding on your advert has to pay a small amount to reply to you, so you will only receive replies from interested people.

What Next?

After you have selected your handyman you simply phone or email them and arrange a date for the work.  Then sit back and let them redecorate for you, or perhaps take the kids out of the house so they can decorate in peace!

Have you tried Bidvine?

Oh this is a great idea, I need to find a decorator and a carpet fitter. We’ve also had issues with plumbers lately, this would have been perfect.

We have a lot of diy to do before decorating but most of the decor we tend to do ourselves these days to save costs.
