It’s that time of year when we are looking for excellent gift ideas for all our family and friends. But the problem is that most people tend to buy everything they need! And you don’t want to clutter their home with unwanted or novelty gifts either.

Creating The Blanket
For our blanket I simply chose the size I would like from the 3 options. The options are 100x70cm, 150x100cm and 200x150cm. This blanket is the largest one, so it was important to choose a photo that was clear enough not to blur when blown up large!
I have over 70,000 photos on my phone. A bit too much really, but photography is a big part of my job and I can’t help it! However, I was also wanting to get this printed quickly, so I didn’t scroll too far back to find the perfect photo!
It’s best to upload 3-4 photos and try them all out separately on the blanket. This way you can get an idea of what they would look like. It also helps you work out if the photo is good enough quality or not. I finally went for the photo of my children on Ashness Bridge in the Lake District last month. It’s a lovely photo of them both and a great memory of our visit to Keswick. We walked up to the bridge from the launch jetty, and it was such a beautiful autumn day.
It only took around 5-7 days from ordering the blanket until it arrived. I ordered it just before we left on holiday and was pleased to see it had safely arrived once we were back a week later. I also purchased a small photo book at the same time, and this arrived the day after we returned. So definitely quick deliveries. Excellent if you want something personal, but have left it a bit late in ordering the gift! Remember postal services can be quite busy near Christmas so do try and order as far in advance as you can!
Why A Photo Blanket?
But why did I choose a photo blanket? Quite simple really, I know it will get used! So it really is a practical gift that will be loved! The weather is getting substantially colder up here in Scotland and the kids love to snuggle under blankets on the sofa. So this particular blanket will be perfect for snuggling under to watch films, or even take outside around a campfire or used as a picnic blanket.
It’s machine washable at 30 degrees Celsius, so it can easily be washed if it gets dirty too. A great option as a gift for families. This would also be lovely for a larger family photo to remember a big event such as a family reunion or wedding. Perhaps a good gift for a newly married couple in their new home?
