We have been enjoying browsing through the activities available on ichild recently, which is a kids activity site. You can find activities on just about every topic for preschoolers to pre-teens. It’s well worth a look and if you enjoy their free activities then you might want to join up for the gold membership and access even more.
As it’s Bonfire Night this weekend we decided to try out one of the activities we found on ichild.
Firework Picture Craft

As you can see from the above screenshot taken from ichild, this is a really easy activity that even the littlest toddlers can take part in. Older children can practice their fine motor skills and accuracy by cutting the toilet rolls for the firework shapes.

Littlest had great fun with this activity, from helping me cutting the toilet rolls, to squirting the paint onto the plates and of course the stamping of his fireworks.

He was absolutely delighted with his pictures of fireworksies (he loves to add ‘ies’ to the end of everything!). We had to use dark green paper as we couldn’t find any black card in my cupboard (although I’m pretty sure there is some there!), but I think they still look great!

If it was a dry day we would also have loved to use brushes to make splatter paintings on the paper and create even more colourful firework paintings.

I would definitely recommend checking out ichild for seasonal and general activities for kids, there is so much inspiration!
Are you off to see fireworks this weekend?
