Europa Hotel – Belfast

Europa Hotel was once the most bombed hotel in the world. But this was back during the Troubles, nowadays it’s known for a laid back grandeur. Walking in through the grand entrance of the lobby and you can see why this is one of Belfast’s most popular hotels. Everywhere you turn is laidback elegance, from the marble columns to the sophisticated piano bar.

Where is Europa Hotel?

Located in the centre of Belfast, Northern Ireland, is Europa Hotel, the perfect location for exploring Belfast. It’s in walking distance of a variety of restaurants, right beside the Grand Opera House and within walking distance of the train station.

Where Do You Park?

If you are driving to the hotel you will soon realise there is no parking on-site. However, the closest parking is just behind the hotel at the Great Northern car park, then walk through the shopping centre to emerge right beside the hotel.

Staying at The Europa Hotel

The Europa Hotel is one of Belfast’s most popular hotels. It’s certainly an impressive building and you can feel the extravagance as soon as you enter the lobby. But the elegant decor isn’t what makes this hotel one of the best places to stay in Belfast. The friendly and helpful staff are what really makes your stay. Oh, and the lifts, the kids loved the lifts!

Rooms

The Europa Hotel has a number of family rooms available, however we chose to have to twin rooms instead. Current prices for 1 night in a family room next year is £153, so it’s also a perfectly affordable hotel, even though it looks much grander than I’d imagine it should be for that price!

The rooms are elegant and fully equipped with comfortable beds, large desks and stylish bathrooms. Plus if you’re lucky you’ll have an excellent view across Belfast! We could see right down to the Grand Opera House below!

Dining

Choose from the Causerie Restaurant, Piano Lounge or Lobby Bar. For a delicious evening meal I’d recommend the Causerie Restaurant, where you can find a blend of contemporary with traditional North Irish cuisine. Children under 12 years old can also get a 2 course meal and drink for just £15

Breakfast is in the Pantry and is either continental or full Irish breakfast. You can even add a dash of Irish whiskey to your porridge! I didn’t, I personally prefer honey in my porridge, but interesting option!

Location

The location of Europa Hotel is perfect for arriving by train or bus, just a stones throw from the Belfast stations. You can also enjoy the shopping and dining options of central Belfast, including the opera house next door.

For other nearby attractions take a local bus or taxi to the Titanic Experience at the docks. An excellent day out for the entire family, with plenty to explore around the Titanic Quarter too.

Other attractions are further afield, but there are plenty of tour options available. Ask at the hotel for recommendations.
