Pancake day has passed, Valentine’s is almost upon us and then the next big date is Easter in March. We have a lot of Easter themed craft ideas coming up and we have made a start with a sweet and simple Easter Chocolate Jar.

You will need:

Jar and lid (this one is from Bottle Company South)
Natural raffia
Chick toy and egg
Spring coloured paper
Shredded tissue paper
Mini eggs (or other chocolate)
Embellishments
Thread
Tag
Bostik Tacky Glue
Blue Tack
- Cut a circle slightly larger than the jar lid and glue to the lid with the tacky glue. Cut slits around the edge, glue and fold over.

2. Twist the raffia into a nest shape, weaving in ends to keep it’s shape and glue to the lid with tacky glue.
3. Using blue tack stick the chick and egg into the nest.
4. Place the shredded tissue paper in the jar and empty the mini eggs inside.

5. Put the lid back on and embellish the jar, tie on a tag and give to your lucky recipient.

Have you started thinking about Easter crafts?

I love this. Think I’m going to get the children to make them as presents for my nieces.

This looks so cute 🙂 We have an Easter fair coming up at school, so I’m going to copy your idea for that 🙂

What a lovely idea, it definitely beats gifting a normal tube of sweets. #HowtoSunday

I love Easter crafts, it brings back really strong memories of when I was a kid! I loved making bonnets and easter nest cakes. Just wish I was a bit more artistic 🙁 #HowtoSunday

My niece and nephew would love to help me make one or two of these… Sadly, I think they’d eat half the chocolate eggs before they made it to the jars! 😀
