DIY Tree Ornaments 3 Ways!

I found these gorgeous colourful chocolate coins in the Co-op and after scoffing half the net I realised the wrappers would actually make some pretty fab tree decorations.  So don’t throw away the wrappings from your chocolate coins, create some cute tree decorations instead!

The first idea is pretty simple, Shiny Baubles, and you will need:

Chocolate coin wrappers;

Cardboard (old cereal packets are perfect);

Glue;

Scissors;

Hole punch; and

Ribbon.

1. Cut a circle out of the cardboard slightly smaller than the coin wrapper.

2. Smooth down the wrapper.

3. Glue the cardboard and stick the wrapper on top folding around the edges, repeat for the opposite side.

4. Punch a hole in the top and tie with a ribbon to hang on the tree.

You will need:

Chocolate coin wrappers in silver and a couple of different colours;

Cardboard;

Scissors;

Glue;

Sharpies;

Hole punch; and

Ribbon.

1. Cut out a snowman shape from the cardboard and glue.

2. Smooth the foil wrapper, stick down on the snowman shape and fold over the edges of the foil.

3. Crush a different colour into a hat shape and stick to the top of the snowman, then crush another colour into a long shape and glue on as a scarf.

4. Use the sharpie to make a snowman face and buttons.

5. Punch a hole in the top and tie with a ribbon to hang.

The final decoration is a, Shiny Christmas Tree!

You will need:

Chocolate coin wrappers;

Cardboard;

Scissors;

Glue;

Hole punch; and 

Ribbon.

1. Cut out a tree shape from the cardboard and cut lots of pieces out of the coin wrappers.

2. Glue the foil pieces onto the cardboard shape.

3. Cut and glue on a star shape to the top of the tree.

4. Punch a hole in the top of the tree and tie with a ribbon.

Admire your gorgeously shiny new decorations.  Great to make yourself or with the kids!
