It is only recently that I have heard about the wonderful idea of cakes in the post! I thought you had to collect cakes that were made for you. But I was very wrong, you can get cakes personalised and delivered direct to your door and even cakes that can fit through your letterbox so you can receive them that day regardless of whether you are home or not!
We were lucky enough to receive one of these letterbox cakes from a fantastic company called Baker Days, who you can buy personalised cakes from using your own design or one of theirs.
The selection of designs is fantastic, I chose a snowman from the Christmas range that we could add a photo of ourselves to and a personalised message. However it took a long time to decide which to actually go for! I especially love the idea of uploading your child’s artwork to be printed onto the cake, a lovely gift for parents or grandparents.
Along with the cake we also received a little cracker and a good quality Christmas card. Letterbox birthday cakes include candles and a balloon, which makes the cake even more fun to receive!
There are options for vanilla, chocolate or Christmas cake and then gluten or dairy free cakes if you have allergies. I had considered the Christmas fruit cake, but actually went for chocolate cake, which was delicious!
We received a letter box cake, which is the smallest size at 5 inches, but adequate for a couple of slices each and one for O too. There are 3 other sizes available at 7, 9 and 12 inches. These clearly will not fit through the letterbox, but will be just as amazing and delicious!
