A couple of years ago I decided to make all my Christmas gifts to save us money and I’m pretty pleased at how everything turned out. Β One of the gifts I made was a little DIY stationery set for a friend. Before I could make the set I had to make the DIY rubber stamp set.
DIY Rubber Stamp Set
I started with plain envelopes, note cards, eraser, Stanley knife and ink pad.
Cut the eraser into small sections and then draw the desired picture on each.Β You can buy actual lino to cut out, but this is much more expensive than a simple eraser!
Decide which part to cut out, these will be the spaces that are not inked, and which parts to leave raised that will have ink on it.
Once you have cut out the stamp test on some scrap paper and re-cut any areas that aren’t quite right.Β It takes a few attempts to get it quite right.
When finished cutting decide how you want to arrange the stamps on the card and envelope and stamp away.
I chose to have the teapot in the middle and a cake either side for the note card and then a cup of tea on the corner of the envelopes.
Have you tried making your own DIY rubber stamp set?

We’ve used loom bands to print, as well as hammered flower prints, but never tried making stamps out of rubbers. Yours look so professional! This really is such a lovely idea, and makes a perfect home-made gift. We’ll definitely be trying this. Pinning x

These are great personalised gifts and you’ve done such a good job with them. I’d like to be a crafty person but I just always end up with a big mess and an unfinished project! #howtosunday

Lino printing is great for larger prints, but the rubber is much better for smaller prints as it’s easier to hold and much cheaper. Definitely give it a go! π x

Hi there Jenny, I really love this DIY, one of the best that I have come across so far. Although I am not the best when it comes to drawing, which I believe is really needed to portray the shape, I am still goign to try it out as it is cheap and everything else seems easy. Thanks a lot for sharing.
