I was recently asked by Snapfish if I would like to create some unique coasters.  I was given the task of creating 4 different sets with a different theme each.

The first set of coasters I chose to create was a map theme, mainly because I love maps, but also because it would help O learn a little more about maps and his country.  To create this set I scanned a map of Scotland from wrapping paper onto the computer and used Picmonkey to create 6 adjoining squares that would all fit together like a jigsaw.  If I was to create this again I would probably cut the map up into the correct size squares first and then scan the six squares as it’s not quite perfect when fiddling with the map on Picmonkey!

Despite not being perfect I love how it turned out.

The second set was created as a gift for my mother in-laws upcoming birthday.  I thought it would be nice for her to have some of the boy’s artwork in a useful form.  So I simply scanned 6 of their paintings (3 of O’s and 3 of A’s) and cropped to squares with a white background.  I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out and I’m sure their Gran will love them.

Set number 3 was to look a little like polaroid pictures, however I forgot that these coasters had rounded edges and so they don’t look as good as I had hoped.  That was my own fault, next time I shall check the shape of the coaster first.  The photos I chose for these were purposefully ones where the boys were playing together, as a reminder to them both that they can have fun together!

The final set of coasters I have created are from comic strips.  I thought the superhero characters would make a striking image for comic book fans.  As we now have plenty of coasters of our own I am offering this set to my readers.  For a chance to win, fill in the Rafflecopter form below.

    Hmm, difficult to choose… It would have to be between Spiderman, the Hulk…or Garfield (I love that cat!) 🙂
