Finding Ways of Staying Healthy in 2021 Isn’t Always Easy
I’d love to stay fit and healthy year round without any effort. I know I used to do it before kids without a problem, but then my job involved a lot of walking every day and I had more time at home. With children it can be difficult to get them enthusiastic about continually moving, they always want to stop and play! But there are other ways to stay fit and healthy, even during the current difficult times.
3 Easy Ways of Staying Healthy
The main three ways to make 2021 the year of staying healthy is to focus on exercising, eating healthily and use supplements when needed. I’ve gone into a bit more detail below about some good ways to get healthy using these three main factors.
Exercise
Of course everyone knows that exercise is important. We all know we need to exercise, but finding the time is so difficult, especially when you have other commitments. The best way to fit it into your regular routine is to simply schedule it. Decide on when would be a best time for you, write it in your diary or the calendar, make sure your partner knows that you’re busy then. If you have kids find a time when you know they are being cared for by someone else, whether this be at a club or at their grandparents.
Choose an easy option for exercising. Running, walking and cycling are some of the easiest forms of exercise as you can do it from your home and fit it into your routine easily. Choose a different route each day to make things more interesting and make sure you have water with you.
If you have more time to plan then wild water swimming is a great way to get fit and cold water is meant to be great for keeping the body healthy. Always go with another person swimming for safety reasons and ensure you have warm dry clothes for afterward.
Hopefully gyms will open up again later in the year, this is another popular option, although it can be more expensive.
Eating Healthy
Healthy eating is clearly something a lot of us could do with! I’m the first to admit I would happily reach for an easy to access snack like a packet of crisps or chocolate bar rather than chop up some fruit or veg to eat. This year I’m really trying to focus more on healthy eating!
Eating healthily doesn’t necessarily mean eating boring, bland food. You can have just as much fun with healthy food! The place to find good recipes is definitely Pinterest. You will find something for every taste! We’ve tried homemade chicken nuggets for the kids recently, making pizza sauce with lots of vegetables blended into the sauce, banana and oat bars and even filled courgette boats.
Simply having more fruit and veg prepared and on hand helps with the snack cravings. Have a bowl of carrot sticks sitting in cold water in the fridge for when you’re feeling peckish, or a few clementines on hand for sweet cravings.
Using Supplements
Even when we try our hardest we probably still aren’t getting all the vitamins we need. So it’s often necessary to take some vitamin supplements to stay as healthy as possible. We were recently sent several different types of vitamin supplements from AvaCare, including D3 +K2 sprays (adult and child options), Omega 3, Immunity C Liposomal and children’s multi-vitamin and Omega 3.
AvaCare
Our favourite supplements to use are the vitamin D3 + K2 sprays as they are so easy to use and easily absorbed. Vitamin D is recommended as a supplement by the NHS between October and March due to the lack of sunlight. The combination of Vitamin D and Vitamin K2 helps to support bone health and strength. There are two different bottles available, one for adults and the other for children. My youngest asks to have his spray every day!
The Children’s Multi-Vitamin and minerals with Omega 3 is probably the most important type of vitamin as it gives children all the types of vitamins they need in one go. The kids were happy with this one and it does give them everything they need in one easy 5ml spoonful! An easy way for staying healthy in 2021. It also tastes quite nice apparently!
Immunity C Liposomal might be something that those who are anxious about Covid-19 would like to use. It’s for 6 years + and gives the body a strong dose of vitamin C with Zinc (Zinc is required for the body to absorb Vitamin C). AvaCare is the only brand that has liquid vitamin C of this strength. Personally, as someone who seems to catch all the colds from my kids, this is definitely a vitamin for me to take!
AvaCare is a new company, but what I really love is how family focused they are. The company will only make products that actually work and that they would be happy giving to their own children. They also intend to keep the products affordable and each product is vegan, so available for all diets. AvaCare is also intent on being transparent about their ingredients and have a banned list that is available on the website. This list shows which items they will not use in their food supplements as they don’t feel that they are safe for families. These sound like great brand values to me!
I can’t say if the supplements ‘work’ as I’ve only been taking them for a short period, however I certainly feel fairly healthy at the moment! Please remember to research whichever supplement you choose to use and don’t take more than the recommended dose.
