O is a great lover of games, we have been playing the same 3 or 4 games since Christmas and he never gets bored of them, but we do!
When I was asked to review this game for Orchard Toys I was a little unsure of what O would think. It’s a bit different to his usual snakes and ladders or other games that require counting and moving counters along, but I shouldn’t have worried!
You can have up to 4 players, each has their own board. The players take it in turns to spin the dial and pick up one of the three types of cards. The speaker cards you need to make sounds only, the movie board cards are for action only and the star is for sound and action together.
The cards have no words, just pictures, so they are as easy for a 4 year old to understand as an adult. The cards are mostly animals and activities like football or rocking a baby. I like that they have also included different emotions, which you need to decipher.
Once the player has performed their card the other players have to guess what they were acting/sounding. The first to guess gets a star to place on their board and once everyone has had placed their 6 used cards on their boards then the game is over and you count up the stars. The winner is the one with the most stars.
It’s a family game for 4 years and up, although I’m pretty sure that some 3 year olds would manage this easily too. It’s great that we can sit down together to play it and each round is fairly quick (around 15-20 minutes long).
O was a little unsure the first time we played, but once he had seen how it was done then he has gotten quite confident and is sounding and acting out the cards well. He’s quite a shy boy, so fingers crossed this gives him a little more confidence when talking to others.
I would certainly recommend this game for Christmas, it will be great to sit around as a family and all ages can participate together.
What is your favourite Orchard Toys game?

We love Orchard Toys! This sounds like a really great game. We’ve got some of the two and three piece puzzles and some flashcards. We can’t get over how many words Evie has learnt in such a short space of time with the flash cards. This looks like a really fun game to play together. xx #letkidsbekids
