Cats require some maintenance but not as much compared to other animals. They need to be brushed to ensure their coat stays healthy and free of dead fur and skin. They are very good at grooming themselves, however, so if you forget then they can do it themselves. A cat’s tongue is rough like sandpaper for this very reason. If you decide to get a kitten then they will need to receive their vaccines from the vet to ensure they won’t get any nasty diseases such as cat flu.

Cats will need some form of pet insurance, this will be relatively cheap and it means your cat is protected if the worst was to happen. Shop around for the best offer and be sure to check the excess amount you need to pay if you claim. Other costs when owning a cat come from cat food, this can be wet food or dry food such as biscuits. They each have their own benefits so it is up to you which one you choose.
