What Is The Perfect Mattress?
What makes a perfect mattress? Simply put it is one that allows you to have a good nights sleep! However, in more detail you will need to think of the formation of layers in the mattress. Gone are the days when you had a simple spring mattress and just dealt with it. Now you can choose from all sorts of designs, with springs, foam, cooling layers and more.
Most people prefer a medium firm mattress, which gives support to their body. The best designs allow perfect spinal alignment, which means it keeps your spine straight! So you definitely need to check out mattress designs against your own comfort preferences before deciding on the perfect mattress for you.
Simba Sleep

Simba has won many awards for it’s mattresses, including from Which Best Buys. So you can be assured that the company is a great choice for all your sleeping needs.
Simba have re-engineered the mattress to allow for a hybrid design of foam and springs, plus a cooling layer. This creates a ground breaking design that has sold over 1/2 million mattresses so far!
They also sell everything from pillows and mattresses to beds and mattress toppers. So you can create your own bundle of items to give you a great night sleep.
We were sent the Simba hybrid mattress and hybrid duvet to review. You can read more about these items below.
The Simba Hybrid Mattress
The Simba hybrid mattress arrives inside a large cardboard box, tightly vacuumed in plastic. The box is rather heavy and you definitely need two people to lift and move it to the bedroom!
Once in the room it’s fairly easy to empty out the box, place on the bed and then carefully cut the plastic away to release the mattress. According to the instructions it takes 6 hours to fully reinflate the mattress. So plan on doing this in the morning rather than just before you go to bed! We did a quick test to check the comfort before this. Mainly as we wanted to be sure we could get rid of the old mattress! But it felt comfy enough, so off the old mattress went to the local tip.
Mattress Recycling Service
What I didn’t realise was that you could also request recycling of your old mattress via Simba. They offer a recycling service to ensure that mattresses are recycled rather than sent to landfill. With springs being sent to scrap metal merchants and textiles being baled and processed into new fibres. Foam is transformed into dog beds, carpet underlay or even a new type of recycled foam that Simba is beginning to use in their mattresses. Definitely a good add-on option to ensure your old mattress isn’t wasted.

The hybrid mattress is made of 6 different ingenious layers. These consist of the breathable cover, a cooling foam layer, aerocoil micro pocket springs, core foam layer, 1000 pocketed spring base, finally another foam base layer. This combination of springs and foam layers means that your body is fully supported and kept cool by the mattress. Allowing a great night sleep. The foam is also infused with graphite, allowing excess heat to flow away from the body for fresher sleep.
The springs reduce the amount of foam compared to other brands, which makes the mattresses much more environmentally friendly. Plus they are 100% recyclable.
The Simba Hybrid Duvet

We also received the Simba hybrid duvet. This arrives in a storage bag made from recycled materials. The duvet itself is filled with 100% recycled bottles filler and 100% cotton cover. This already sounds great, even before we take the duvet out the bag!
Getting too hot at night is a common problem, particularly in the warmer months. One side of the duvet is created with ingenious Stratos technology which reacts to your body temperature. It disspates any excess heat allowing you to stay cool and dry.
We’ve only had the cover a few days, but I can already see how great it will be in the warmer summer temperatures. Another excellent addition to a good night rest!
