I found these little papier mache flower pots at the back of our craft cupboard. I bought several in a Hobbycraft sale last year (for pennies each!) and thought today we would actually use them. So our flower pot craft was born!
I set up this little invitation to play for O. The dish is a plastic serving platter that I bought a while back, great for setting up several different materials for children to create with.
He painted the flower pots and rolled them in the glitter. Can’t beat a sparkly flower pot for shine! I’d recommend using bamboo glitter, which can decompose. Much better than plastic glitter!
He then painted the flowers (cut out of a polystyrene pizza base) and dipped them in glitter too. Toddlers do love their glitter!
Then he coloured the lolly sticks and when dry I hot glued the flowers to the sticks, used some playdough to fill the pots and O pushed the flowers into the playdough.
O was very proud of his flower pot craft and I think they look pretty cute too. A little bit of upcycling and a little of using what we had in the cupboard = a cheap summer craft for little ones!
