It’s worthwhile taking a look at venues in your local area and seeing if they have availability. This is especially recommended if you’re trying to make the event extra special and memorable. But don’t worry if you’re hosting the party at home — it can still be highly memorable if you set the scene (more on that later).
Early Invitations
A party isn’t a party without guests! It’s best to set invitations as early as possible, which will increase the chances that everyone can come. Try to send them at least a month in advance so other parents can put the party in their diary. It can be tricky deciding who to invite since there’ll likely only be a finite amount of space at the venue. Just make sure no one gets left out — if you’re inviting people from their sports team, then ideally everyone on the team would be invited.

Set the Scene
Planning to host the party at home? Then you’ll want to set the scene. This process is all about turning your everyday home into a magical party wonderland. There are a bunch of ways to do this, and really it’ll depend on the type of party you’re hosting. If you’ve got a theme for the event, then take a look at online birthday supplies — there’ll surely be some items out there you can decorate your home with.
Add a Surprise or Two
So far, the tips will lead to a great party. But remember, you’re trying to make this party extra special. For that, it’s best to add a surprise or two. There’s no shortage of magical additions you can incorporate into the party. For example, you could hire a photo booth so your child and their friends can take fun photos, or you could put together your own fireworks display. Renting a bouncy castle for a garden party is another good idea — it’ll provide hours of fun for kids and adults alike.
Star of the Show
Finally, remember to work extra hard to ensure your little one feels like the star of the show. That can involve getting them all dressed up or just letting them know that, for today at least, it’s all about them.
