Booking a restaurant can often be a bit of a hassle. This is especially true if you’re not keen on phoning restaurants! So it makes it so much simpler to just book the table online and know that everything’s sorted. This is where OpenTable comes in!

Booking Via OpenTable
OpenTable is a website where you can book a table at a restaurant in hundreds of restaurants across the country. The website is simple to use, with the ability to search areas by location, restaurant name or cuisine. You can also add in the details of the date, number of people and time you need the table for.
The website lists your available choices and you simply confirm the time on the restaurant, fill in your details and then you’re booked in! Really easy to do and saves the hassle of phoning places to find out there’s no space, or no answer as staff are busy!
When you click on the restaurant you choose it also gives you an idea of the average cost of meal for a person, star rating and reviews from other users. I’m definitely one who likes to check out reviews before visiting a restaurant!
Soho Restaurant Choices
In Soho there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, the majority of Soho Restaurants are listed on the OpenTable website. You can choose from everything from traditional UK restaurant food, to Greek and Japanese restaurants. The area is really spoilt for choice on good cuisine and it’s easy to find something to suit all tastes.
We chose to visit Refuel bar at the Soho Hotel, which was definitely a good choice for us. As much as I’d like to try Japanese or Russian cuisine, I was with with the kids. So it was simpler to visit somewhere that had typical UK food that they would enjoy.
Refuel Bar and Restaurant at Soho Hotel
The Soho Hotel is located just a short distance from the Tottenham Court Road underground station. It’s tucked down a little street and as soon as you arrive at the door you will be welcomed by the doorperson. Admire the beautiful artwork and colourful textiles in the lobby before turning right into the Refuel Bar and Restaurant.
I was immediately be impressed by the colourful decor of the restaurant as we entered. The colourful wallpaper and distinctive art choices were wonderful look at. Along with the selection of fuel canisters separating the bar and restaurant areas.
The service was excellent, we had a very dedicated server who frequently topped up our glasses with water, checking that everything was ok. I chose a delicious fish meal for myself, whilst the children had toasties and chips. Dessert was ice cream for the kids and chocolate cake for myself.
Verdict
OpenTable was excellent for booking the table, it can be made at any time. It makes it much more likely for me to book a table, as I personally dislike having to phone people. Obviously this is just my opinion, but I know others who feel similar! I also like being able to compare which restaurants have space on the date and time I require, along with reviews.
I would definitely use OpenTable again and I’d also visit the Soho Hotel again too. My only dislike was that a 12.5% service charge was added at the Soho Hotel. This charge was not declared until the bill arrived and was in tiny writing hiding at the bottom. As this was unexpected and made our bill much more expensive I was unable to afford to tip the staff.
