With our first child I went on maternity leave a few weeks early so I could prepare our house for our soon-to-arrive baby. I spent a lot of my time in those days at the sewing machine sewing little nappies and blankets for our first born and when he was born he had so many handmade things waiting for him.
Our second born was not so lucky, I was run ragged by the aforementioned first born, who had turned into a two year old who did not like to sleep at night! I still haven’t finished binding our second son’s little cot quilt, something I MUST do this summer so he can still use it for a short time before he stops napping entirely. The only thing I did manage to make for him was a crocheted blanket which he was wrapped in just after birth.
As the second child, he didn’t even get many new clothes, instead we brought down all his brothers old baby clothes from the loft and I spent hours washing, drying and sorting all the clothes ready for him to fit into.
The reason it took so long to sort the baby clothes was because each little babygrow and outfit brought back memories of our first baby wearing them, a tiny little bundle of cuteness in soft cotton. Comfort has recently introduced Comfort Pure Ultra-Concentrated, which gives incredible softness from a tiny dose. Only a small amount of the new Comfort is needed to give the same kind-to-skin performance that little ones need.
It seems so long ago that they were tiny, but although they are growing fast, they will always be my babies in my heart.
