The Easter holidays are before Easter this year so I’ve included lots of events for the kids in the Easter holidays. But if you want to scroll to the bottom of the post you’ll also find a list of egg hunts over the Easter weekend itself. Hopefully you will find something to help entertain the kids in the holidays and have a great Easter weekend!

Easter Holiday Events
Blairdrummond Safari Park – Jungle Club – A brand new holiday club for children aged 8-12 years old from 1st-5th of April. Enjoy exploring the safari park, building dens, learn bush craft, go on a bike safari and of course meet some of the safari park residents and learn how to care for them. A full day costs £50 and includes lunch.
Easter Art School Glasgow – For the young artists aged 5-13 years old, they can enjoy Easter Art School over the holidays. The first week is printmaking on the 2nd and 3rd April making a series of prints and a printed t-shirt. The second week is the 9th and 10th April and is called Marvellous Creatures, where the children will make their own costume and mask using various techniques. Both holiday camps are £60 per day and run from 10am-3pm.
Irvine, Wizard School– A 2 hour wizard school at Fullarton Connexions, where the children get an acceptance letter, sorting ceremony, close up interaction with real owls, wand allocation and 4 magical skill lessons. It’s open on the 16th April and costs £15 per child.
RSPB Black Devon, Easter Treasure hunt – On the 6th April head down to Black Devon Wetlands near Alloa for their Easter treasure hunt. Birds have been laying eggs all over the reserve, help solve the clues and identify the owners. It’s £3 per adult and £2 per child, open from 11am -3pm.
Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling – You Choose Show, based on the book of the same name. Children can choose what happens in the show through various interactive performances. The show is different every time! Thursday 11th April at 2pm, suitable for 2-11 year olds.
Stirling Castle, Unicorn – The unicorn is Scotland’s national animal, take part in the quiz to find unicorns throughout the castle. Even get some face art to look like a unicorn yourself. Open on 6th and 7th April.
Easter at the Palace of Holyrood House – Search the palace for all the weird and wonderful wigs, hats and crowns worn throughout the century’s. Then design your own Easter bonnet for the Queen for the chance to win an Easter hamper!
Edinburgh Easter Youth Gaitherin – Young musicians aged 10-18 years old can take part in this exciting opportunity for 3 days of workshops with some of Scotland’s finest trad musicians. Available for beginners to the more experienced, the 8th-10th April.
Almond Valley, Easter Eggcitement – Throughout the Easter holidays there will be plenty of encounters with with baby animals. Grab a clue sheet to take you around the farm on the springtime trail and look out for eggs that could win you a prize! Don’t forget to make various spring and Easter crafts in the craft area. There will be more excitement over the Easter weekend itself, including the annual duck race!
Dobbies Garden Centres, Easter Bunny Breakfast – Have breakfast with the Easter Bunny at selected Dobbies garden centres over Easter weekend. Where the kids also get to dress up in their Easter bonnet and receive a chocolate Lindt bunny.
Dalkeith Country Park, Easter Egg Painting – Head to the Restoration Yard for some egg painting madness with the kids. Let the kids loose with the paint and glitter. April 19th, 10 – 11.30pm, booking online required.
Dippy, at Kelvingrove – Head down to Kelvingrove to see the awesome Dippy the dilpodocus, currently on tour at the Kelvingrove museum until 6th May.
Kelvingrove Eggstravaganza – Join RSPB Scotland to find out more about the weird and wonderful eggs in the animal kingdom at Kelvingrove museum.
Springfest, Loch Lomond – Head down to Loch Lomond Shores to browse through over 80 food and drink stalls, whilst listening to great live music. There’s plenty of cookery demonstrations and kids activities too. Springfest is on 6-7th April.
We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, Hamilton – Based on the much loved book of the same name, enjoy a fantastic show with the kids! April 1st – 3rd, booking required.
Baron’s Haugh RSPB Reserve, Motherwell – Dino Sidekick Safari at the RSPB reserve will involve exploring the reserve with the ranger to find out about how dinosaurs lived and meet some living ancestors, the birds!
Cadburys NTS Egg Hunt – Check out the website for details of your closest egg hunt at a National Trust for Scotland site. over Easter weekend.
Easter Eggsplorer, Historic Scotland – Join in with an Easter eggsplore at one of the many castles, palaces and forts around Scotland. Check the link for your closest and enjoy finding the clues!
Boness and Kinneil Railway Easter Special – Hunt eggs in the railway museum and enjoy a tasty treat on the Easter special steam train ride!
Whitelee Windfarm – On Easter Sunday, help the Easter bunny find the eggs then decorate your egg to roll down the hill!
The Big Easter Egg Hunt – At Millheugh Woods on 22nd April is an Easter Egg hunt from 10.30-12.30. Aside the egg hunt there will also be river dipping and free snacks!
