We were loving the sunshine and warmth the other w We were loving the sunshine and warmth the other week, I think the kids got used to not wearing jackets! Then this week we’re back to snow and big cosy jackets for our walks! 🤣

I’m hoping it will warm up a bit so I can get more plants out in the veg patch! Afraid to plant too many in case they get frosted. At least the garden Centre was open to buy fleece and protect some climbers that I bought online!

This gorgeous bridge is at Falls of Dochart in Killin. We arrived there roasting hot from our sunny walk and enjoyed a break on the rocks to admire the view and drink lots of water! It’s a nice walk from Glen Ogle car park to here.

Counting down the days until 26th April when we can travel throughout the rest of mainland Scotland again. 😁🙌🏻 looking forward to seeing the friends and family we’ve missed over the last 4 months. 💕

It might not be warm up here, but we certainly had It might not be warm up here, but we certainly had a beautiful sunny day in the Trossachs. We made the most of it with a lovely 6 mile circular walk near Stronachlachar.

We passed all the Victorian engineering works in place for the water aqueduct taking water from Loch Arklet to Loch Katrine. The water in Loch Katrine is then sent by aqueduct to Glasgow as their fresh water supply. It was opened in 1859 by Queen Victoria, who was meant to stay at the Royal Cottage on Loch Katrine. Unfortunately they had a 21 gun salute to welcome the queen and blew out the cottage windows. So obviously she never stayed in the cottage! 🤣 An interesting history lesson for the kids anyway! 😂

Who’s looking forward to Easter? My kids have been counting down the days for weeks! Planning a fun egg hunt in the woods for them, but not the best weather for Sunday apparently!

[AD] This is what home is like at the moment, dail [AD] This is what home is like at the moment, daily chores and messy hair! 😂 I don’t see many people and so my hair is usually left a mess after our walks together! 😂 Chores are never ending with kids of course.

Fortunately the 9 year old has been quite helpful lately. I think he’s realised that if he helps with jobs around the house things can be done quicker. So we can do other things together!

He’s been helping to put the washing in and even voluntarily folded the washing!! We’ve recently been testing out @surcareuk non-bio laundry capsules. They have no nasty chemicals and are approved by Allergy UK, so perfect for my sensitive skin! Plus they clean really well too. You can buy them in Sainsburys instore and online.

You can also enter the @surcareuk competition to win a years supply of laundry capsules. Head over to their website to find out more: https://www.surcare.co.uk/win-a-years-supply-of-surcare-non-bio-laundry-capsules/

We’ve been trying to get out on more local walks We’ve been trying to get out on more local walks whilst it’s quiet still. Although I’m missing the sea A LOT, we do have beautiful hills and lochs nearby. This is the summit of Ben A’an with Loch Katrine behind.

We only saw a handful of people on our walk up Ben A’an, possibly because the weather was fairly damp and it was a Monday. The summit was empty and the cloud cover magically lifted, allowing us to watch the view suddenly appear in front of us.

This is a great hill for kids, even preschoolers can manage it with a little help up the large steps and walking a little slower. Most of the walk is steep stone steps, with a flatter part in the middle. But as it’s not too high and a short walk it’s definitely doable for younger children.

This was the first time my two climbed Ben A’an, I’ve been putting it off due to winter weather, busy crowds last year and then just being busy ourselves before that! But now I think we’ll go for a larger hill, just perhaps we’ll wait until the weather clears up! It’s rather wet for the next few days!

Surveying their kingdom 😂🤣💕. Today was su Surveying their kingdom 😂🤣💕. Today was such a beautiful day, we had to go out for a walk! Our aim was to find some ancient rock art hidden in the Trossachs.

After a walk along part of the Rob Roy Way we turned off along a boggy upland area to get to the rock carvings scattered across the hillside. Swipe across to see the cup and ring markings. I thought they were under a thin layer of moss, but it turns out it’s more like pulling a huge layer of turf off!! We placed the moss/grass/rushes back onto the stones to protect them once we had finished. Amazing to think they were made thousands of years ago!

We’ll head back along the Rob Roy Way again soon. The section we turned off at was getting so pretty with views to the mountains in the North! Our view was down across the Carse of Stirling to Lake of Mentieth. You can see the island that @historicscotland Inchmahome Priory is located. Hopefully we can visit it again later this year, it’s a favourite of ours as you get a small boat across to the island.

[AD] Winter is always a difficult time for keeping [AD] Winter is always a difficult time for keeping healthy, there's less sunlight, we need more effort to get outside with all the layers, then throw in a pandemic where we can't go far! We've taken to walking and cycling as much as we can. Although recently I seem to have spent most my time standing around on snowy hills whilst the kids use snow scooters to go down them. Fortunately the snow has melted now so we can have longer cycles again!

Eating healthy is important too and I'm making a concerted effort to eat more fruit and vegetable and cooking things from scratch.

However, I still believe it's important to take vitamin supplements to ensure our bodies have enough to properly function. Vitamins D3 and K2 are especially important in winter when we don't get enough sunlight. For the children the multivitamins are definitely important, particularly if they are fussy eaters and don't eat a huge variety!

We've been taking these @avacarevitamins supplements that the kids like. They taste great and Avacare has great family orientated values that I love! They won't include any ingredients that they wouldn't want to give their own kids! 💕

Do you take vitamin supplements?

[AD] With Mother's Day coming up and the weather n [AD] With Mother's Day coming up and the weather not exactly the best for playing outside for long, we've been doing some more crafting. The kids love @Bakerrossltd craft kits and we often use them for our home ed activities.

However this time they've been creating a few Mother's Day gifts for me. They were particularly taken with the little jewellery boxes and beads for making bracelets. So they have each decorated a box and jewellery, however I'm not convinced they want to give up their creations to me! Just look how pleased they are with the jewellery boxes! Perhaps they will need to choose another craft to make for me. Ha ha!

Baker Ross have a huge range of crafts for kids. You can easily find something to make for Mother's Day or even just to keep the kids busy on a rainy day. Their crafts are fantastic! We're looking at getting some Easter crafts for the kids next.

What crafts do your kids like to make for Mother's Day?

You can currently get free delivery on orders £25 and over until 1st March with code MDAY25FREE.

[AD] It’s another snow day today, This was taken [AD] It’s another snow day today, This was taken yesterday and we’ve had more snow since! The kids have hardly been inside today! 🤣

They were happy enough running about jumping in the snow with their new @welovefrugi outfits. The eldest has the reversible toasty trail jacket, Cody jeans and Bertie belt bag. Littlest has the elephant puddle buster coat and matching wellies, rainbow cuffed joggers and Bertie belt bag. The belt bags are definitely a favourite item, so good for storing snacks in on short walks and putting treasure in for the way home too! 😂💕

I’m loving all the new Frugi designs, they are so joyful at this time of year when the skies are usually grey!

How is 2021 treating you so far?! January hasn’t How is 2021 treating you so far?! January hasn’t been the best start with lockdown. Although seeing all the vaccination numbers going up has been great, in our area it’s now the over 70’s turn this month. 🙌🏻💕 The case numbers are going back down again and there’s hope for some ‘normality’ returning in the next month or so. When I say normality I mean not lockdown!!

I have high hopes for the rest of the year and continue to be optimistic about things getting better! Only another month until it’s Spring and things start to be a little brighter and warmer outside!

Are you optimistic for the rest of this year?

This boy of mine doesn’t get enough space in my This boy of mine doesn’t get enough space in my grid. Mainly as he doesn’t often want photos! So I took my chance when he let me take a few the other day!

We had a fun walk up a nearby hill to play in the snow and make snow sculptures. The snow had frozen and turned into ice crystals, so the kids spent a good chunk of time lying in the snow looking at (and eating 🤣) the snow crystals!

We’ve only had rain the last few days so I’m looking forward to some more frosty blue sky days.

How are you coping at the moment? I’m getting quite sick of lockdown now. It seems never ending! Not the easiest time, at least last spring we had beautiful weather. 🤷🏼‍♀️
