I have listed some exciting events coming up in the next month all around Scotland.  Let me know if there are any other events you would like added to the list and I’ll do my best to add them.

Saturday 8th October

Remake Scotland, at Crieff, is holding a kids creative Halloween Tombstone crafting session from 10am – 11am.

Meet the mason at Jedburgh Abbey, 12pm – 4pm, a Historic Scotland property (entry fees).  Learn the tools of his fascinating trade and how his designs were brought to life.

Thursday 13th October

Edinburgh Botanic Lights, booking essential, buy tickets here.  As darkness falls, follow a magical 1.5 km trail of light around the botanic gardens admiring the stunning lights and projection.

Friday 14th October

Arnprior Pick Your Own Pumpkins open from 10am – 4pm (located a few miles west of Stirling).  Come and pick your own Halloween pumpkins and test out the Kale maze too (pumpkin cost is dependent on weight).

Urquhart Under Siege, included in admission price, at Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness. Drop in sessions 12pm – 4pm.  Join them to make a mini-mangonel, design your own defensive tower and learn more about castle sieges!

Arnprior Pick Your Own Pumpkins open from 10am – 4pm (located a few miles west of Stirling).  Come and pick your own Halloween pumpkins and test out the Kale maze too (pumpkin cost is dependent on weight).

Community Open Day (free) at Camperdown Wildlife Centre, Dundee, 10am – 3pm.  Find out what’s been happening and meet the animals and staff.

Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens Storytelling Day, 1pm -4pm, free, all ages. A relaxed afternoon of autumn storytelling in the gardens.

Weave a Woolly Star at Logan Botanic Gardens, Dumfries and Galloway, 1pm, meet at the yurt.

Friday 28th October

Glasgow Science Centre Fright Night, 6pm – 9.30pm, booking essential (£6 per person, under 3’s free) with free goody bag for children over 3.  Hear hair-raising tales in the dark depths of the planetarium, brew your own potion, watch a live autopsy and get hands on if you can stomach it!

Linlithgow Palace Fright Night, book tickets via Historic Scotland in advance, 6pm, 7.30pm and 9pm.  As darkness falls step back in to the 1850s amid rumours of ghostly goings-on at the ancient palace of Linlithgow. Professor Newcomen has been commissioned along with his sidekick Seamus to investigate and dismiss such ridiculous notions.  Dare to join them?

Cairnie Fruit Farm Pumpkin Festival, no entrance fee (unless you want to use the play area), pumpkins charged by size.  There will also be face painting, Halloween displays and you can take your pumpkin to the design team to carve your design for free.

Almond Valley All Day Halloween Party, 10am – 8pm.  Halloween games and dancing, dressing-up and crafty creations. The trails, tricks, treats, and scream-out-loud fun continues once the sun goes down. Come dressed to kill.

Halloween Party at the Museum of Rural Life, East Kilbride, 5pm – 7pm.  Join in the spooky fun on this, the scariest night of the year! Take part in apple dooking, scary trails and lots of spirited activities.
