Christmas cards made by the kids are a lovely gesture for loved ones. Yes, they may well look a little scary, rude or downright a mess, but when it comes to children it really is the thought that counts with Christmas cards. We have recently tried creating a variety of painted cars including using pom poms and painting feet (nothing makes my too happier than getting messy!). But sometimes you need a (slightly) less messy version of a card that still has a fun catch that the kids will love creating it.
The people behind the Lost My Name books have come up with just that, this sweet Christmas cuddle card is ultra cute and can be personalised in a huge variety of ways.
I followed the instructions that can be found on the Lost My Name, Clever Ideas pages. You really need to check the range of ideas there, some fantastic crafts including a lovely glow home lantern to other play ideas like the Unicorn driving test.
To create this adorable cuddle card you need to print out the template that can be downloaded from the Clever Ideas page. Once cut out and decorated a butterfly pin secures the two people together and you can open the card and interlock the arms to give a hug.
I especially love this idea for a Christmas card to the grandparents, decorating it to look like them and the child and adding a sweet hand written note telling them that this card is a cuddle in the post from them.
The range of decorations you can use are endless, from felt to pens, glitter and glue, card, paper, fabric, whatever you have to hand can be used in the decoration of the people. You can even head down the upcycling route, using colourful chocolate wrappers or newspaper.
So if your kids have a distant relative that they want to send a hug to, then create this card and pop into the post for them!
Don’t forget to pop over to the Clever Ideas page for more fantastic crafts and activities.

Aww I love it! Such a lovely idea to send a hug to someone you can’t see in person over Christmas.
